5 months!

So, it's almost Christmas and I've got a lot of catching up to do on the blog. It is truly my favorite time of year, but also the busiest. Quincy also had his first virus. It was so sad! He had a little fever and a really bad stuffy nose, which of course he hates for me to clean! He's recovering now and feels much better.

Right now, one of Quincy's favorite things to do is play with tags. If you give him a toy and it has a tag on it, all he pays attention to is the tag, lol. He also loves playing peek-a-boo!

Let's catch up on some pics....Here are some pictures of when Quincy met Patrick (Ashley's baby). Patrick is 6 weeks older than Quincy and probably 1/2 foot taller, lol. If you know Ashley and me, then it all makes sense.

And Thanksgiving.... We were in Greensboro of course....Mommy and Daddy ran a 5k that morning and then we had a wonderful family dinner that afternoon. Here are a couple of pics from that weekend...

Terri took great Christmas pictures of us. Quincy was not feeling well that evening, but I think his pic turned out perfect. Thanks Terri!

18 weeks!

Hello,

I'm 18 weeks today! I had to go to the doctor earlier this week and I got 4 shots! I weighed 12lbs and was 23 in. long.

My mom hadn't updated the blog in a while...she's been really busy with craft shows. She has done 3 and has 1 more to go. She also goes to work 2 days a week and her friend keeps me. The first day, Mommy cried when she dropped me off, but she doesn't do that anymore. Daddy has been taking classes to become a referee. He really likes it and will be reffing games really soon.

I dressed up as a pumpkin for Halloween!

Thanks for stopping by.

Love you all,
Quincy

14 weeks..Mommy has her camera back!

So, I lost my camera charger and finally ordered a new one via Amazon! I just got it this week. No worries...I do have pictures of Quincy's recent visit to Greensboro, however, they are on GC's camera....I'll get them up soon!

At 12 weeks, he began rolling over from his back to his stomach. He was asleep laying down and Quad and I left the room...when I came back he had turned to his stomach...I asked Quad, "Did you turn him over on his stomach?" Quad said, "No!" So, then we had to watch him because we wanted to see him turn..finally, we saw him. Then a couple of days later, he began turning from his stomach back over to his back. He's quick too! He loves sleeping on his stomach! Every time we lay him down, he immediately flips over. I know...I know...back to sleep, tummy to play.

So, here's a quick pic of him at 14 weeks sitting in his highchair.

Enjoy!

Check out the hair!

11 Weeks!

Quincy is 11 weeks today and for the first time, he actually grabbed his keys, held on to them, and started playing with them. He was holding on tight too, he has a strong grip! Of course, we captured a picture of it...
Enjoy!

10 weeks old!

Hi Everyone! I wanted to share some Quincy news! He is now 2 months old and at his 2 month check up he weighted 10lb 12oz! He's getting big. He had to get 4 shots and I have to say, Quad and I took it much harder than he did! It was so sad!

Quincy also started going to BSF bible study with me. He's been really good! Here's a picture of us on his first day!

The glare from the sun is on my face, lol..

We also took Quincy on his first trip to North Carolina! He was so good in the car...slept most of the way going and coming. He likes riding, thank goodness! We had to pull over at the North Carolina Welcome Center and get a picture of him with the Welcome to North Carolina sign!

Quincy had a wonderful time in North Carolina. He was passed from arm to arm. He went to church for the first time too! Doc said that he couldn't go until he was 8 weeks! Here's a picture of him and my great aunt...Aunt Pearl, 89 years young! He saw a lot of people while in Greensboro, but we didn't get around to everyone. No worries, we'll be back soon!

It was Kayla's (my niece) 4th birthday. She loves Quincy..here's a picture of the two of them.

They both had on their pajamas...Kayla had silly hair!

Last week, Quincy rolled over! He can roll from his tummy to his back, he can't quite go from his back to his tummy yet! He also talks a lot in his own little language. As long as you talk to him, he'll coo right back at you! Here's a 10week photo!

He's getting too big for his floor nanny!

Until next time!

The King

Hey Everybody,

Just checking in. It really stinks when I have to be at work and Keisha gets to play with Quincy all day. Ahh, well, you've gotta do what you have to do, right? Here's a pic Keisha just sent me.... I guess everybody wants to be a King these days (T.I., Lebron, Larry "King"), but you need to add one more as we have one living under our roof. Meet King Quincy with his commanding fist in the air... "You will sleep and eat when I commandeth." Talk to you later....

He's here...he's been here a month!

Hello World!

On July 17, 2010 at 4:,31pm Henry Ward Beecher Smith V (Quincy) was born! He weighed 6lb, 3oz and was 19in. long. It's been an entire month since
we've updated the blog...life has been busy.

Brand New!

Quincy has had lots of family visitors since his birth...all 3 of his grandparents (Ol'Pa, GC, and Ma Barb) & Kayla arrived just before the birth, then on Sunday, his Uncle Chris, Aunt Vee, and cousins Christal and Sack came to visit.

Monday 7/19/10 before leaving the hospital

On Monday, the 19th we went home from the hospital, it was surreal as we were driving off from the hospital, Quad and I had envisioned this moment for quite some time and now it was real...it wasn't just us in the car...Quincy was there too!

Leaving the Hospital

My first car ride..on the way home

Even more family members have been to visit since we've been home...Uncle Alan, Aunt Erin, Kalin, Aunt Margaret, Kelton, Uncle Jr., Uncle Kevie and of course Ol'Pa, GC, Ma Barb and Kayla have been back again. Quincy is truly loved!

Quincy is growing and changing each day. At his 2 week doctor's appointment, he weighed 6lb, 10oz...I can't weight to see how large he'll be at his 8 week appt. His favorite activities include sitting in his bouncy car, napping in his floor nanny, and the newest addition..his swing. The swing is his favorite!

Napping in my Floor Nanny

My swing!

At 1 month, he can lift up his head during tummy time and turn it from side to side. He can also take his pacifier out of his mouth and put it back in all by himself! He tries to suck his thumb, but he promised his Aunt Erin (dentist) that he wouldn't. He also enjoys listening to his parents read him books, singing songs, and looking at himself in the mirror. He always seems to point his pointer fingers up, I'm not sure what that's all about...maybe he's just saying that he's Mommy and Daddy's #1.

Ready for bed!

Today's my 1 mo. old bday! I celebrated with my Daddy is my Hero onesie.

And Its On.......

Good Morning All,

Its almost noon on the 17th of July. We've been here since about 4am this morning. We are both beat. To catch you up on all the goings on, here's a recap of all the events until now...Keisha started having contractions about 7:30 am on Friday. I stayed home and we just monitored the contractions with an iTouch app...pretty neat. After a while, Keisha was ready to get out of the house. Our Lamaze instructor told us that walking is the best way to go through labor so we decided to go to the mall and walk around. Here's a video of Keisha in the mall in the midst of contractions every 10 minutes:

While at the mall, Keisha got a foot massage.....she looked so relaxed and the dude said it was good for the baby or at least that's what he said.....Here's the vid:

After the mall, we headed home to 1) get out of the heat and 2) get the car packed for the arrival of little Quincy. We just chilled for the remainder of the day. Contractions pretty much stayed steady for the rest of the evening. We both were beginning to think that Quincy was not ready to come so we took this last video before Keisha went to lay it down...

Around 3am today, the contractions woke Keisha up out of one of those deep sleeps. Just a warning to all future mothers, the real contractions are no joke. We called the doctor and she said that we should come on in......so that was it...it was definitely time....

Let me wrap this up....this will be our last correspondence until Quincy is born. I just want to say that Keisha is a trooper....a very high tolerance for pain. All the nurses are impressed by how calm she has been throughout. More to come....talk to ya'll soon...

Two more baby showers!

Hi All,

Well, we're here at 37 weeks! I can't believe that he's due in 3 weeks. We are really getting excited to see his little face and play with him. Well, it has been hot here in the DC area. We've had 13 consecutive days with the temperature above 90! Quad has been taking me all the way to the front door of my office in the mornings and picking me up in the afternoons. Poor Quad...he's a champ.

My sister-in-law (Margaret), niece (Allison), and mom (Mama) had me a shower in Greensboro on June 19. It was so much fun. Thanks so much guys. Here are a couple of pics from the shower.

We should have taken a picture of the car...It was loaded down with gifts, but somehow Wanda (my cousin) fit it all in. Thanks Wanda! We could barely see out the back window, but we made it back to NOVA safely. God is always protecting us!

Then... On last Friday, the girls (and Dan) at work, had a surprise baby shower for me there! They really surprised me too. Hard to do! Here are a few of those pics...thanks to Pilar, Tina, Jessy & Dan!

Pretty cake!

We had Ledo's Pizza and Salad...we were all too full to go back to work!

Sarah made this for me!

Dan gave a speech!

The crib finally came in and Quad worked hard putting it together!

Look at those ugly Duke Basketball shorts...

My friend Tessa and I went scrapbooking at my friend Dawnette's house on Saturday pm. She always cooks a fabulous meal for us when we scrapbook. Thanks Dawnette! Sunday after church, we rested and on Monday we cooked on the grill! So good.

Hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend!
